About us

Greetings, and thanks for stopping by!  We started this website as a way to stay connected and share the joys and challenges of our “third act”  adventures with family and friends. Our slow roll into retirement began in 2022 with a 4,300 mile Coast-to-Coast bicycle tour with Cycle America.  We met some great folks on that Northern Tier ride from Seattle to Gloucester, MA (and through Ontario, Canada), enjoyed the challenge, and immediately began planning our next ride.

In 2023 we embarked on a self-supported bicycle pilgrimage of The Underground Railroad Bicycle Route from Mobile, Alabama to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada - one of Adventure Cycling Association's curated. “heritage routes”.  It was truly an inspiring and transformative trip.  We did not travel by night as the freedom seekers did, but we did ”follow the drinking gourd” north on our bikes to learn and witness their stories and legacy. 

From June 15 - August 16, 2024 we will be joining the Bike the US for MS TransAm Team on a fundraising ride from Yorktown, VA to San Francisco, CA.  Our goal is to raise awareness and as much money as we can to help fund research and treatment options in support of the over 1 million people in the living with Multple Sclerosis in the United States.  We will also participate in six service work days  along the way to help folks impacted by MS tackle projects (i.e. build ramps, paint, yard cleanup, etc.) that will make things just a bit better at home.   Please follow us on our 2024 Bike the US for MS blog page!
